July is Disability Pride Month.
Stemming from the July 26th signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in 1990, prohibiting discrimination against people with disabilities.
Disability Pride Month is a time to recognize the history, achievements, experiences, contributions, and struggles of people with disabilities. It affirms that disability is a natural and valuable part of human diversity—not a deficit or condition to be fixed.

This is a celebration of identities and culture. Also a time to bring awareness to think patterns towards people with disabilities, how disability is defined, and to end the stigma of disability, promoting instead the belief that disability is a natural part of human diversity and that inclusion should emote pride not shame.

Let's foster a culture of inclusion, accepting and honoring each person's uniqueness.
Happy Disability Pride Month!
