A meningioma. That was the diagnosis I received in 2014. A benign tumor the size of my thumb had been growing for the last five years on my brain in my orbits area. My team of neuro surgeons extracted the tumor, which grew back five years later and I had my second brain surgery.
The effects of the tumors being in my orbits area along with two surgeries to extract them, while saving my eye, resulted in substantial visual impairment to my right eye.

I am a woman of true, strong faith. Able to journey through these physical trials and challenges only by the grace and love of God. I am so grateful to Him for my life.

Learning about disabilities that are unseen and how it applies to my life now has been a huge awakening for me. I'm understanding more about myself and how to love and show grace to that part of me that may be struggling with the anxieties that any form of a disability can bring. Being an independent woman, those apprehensions can be pretty strong at times.

My desire is to use my voice to help others like me. Those facing and living with unseen disabilities and trying to live with new abilities.
